This is an ambient piece I wrote on the last day of 2020. My plan is to record and release an ambient piece on the first day of each month this year. Inspired by whatever is going on in my monkey mind... and whatever new "toys" get the music flowing. This music is produced for film and video use and is available for licensing.
Music
This is a love song for my children and reflects on a moment I had with my dad. The song was given to me in a dream. Inspired by Buddhist and Hindu wisdom. "There has never been a time when we didn't exist and there will never be a time when we cease to be. The only thing that changes is this body." The birds in this song are cardinals singing... for my dad... and the beautiful background vocals were a gift from my song-circle partner BettySoo.
"A Voice To Sing" is a brand new song that is still in the works. This recording features fantastic drumming from Nashville session drummer Nate Barnes (a new collaborator found on SoundBetter.com). All of the music is recorded, with the exception of a few potential experiments with a horn part. Lyrics are also written, but not yet recorded. I decided to release what I have so far to let the song exist out in the world and evolve. Letting potential listeners hear the progress.
This song was written as a lullaby and the soundtrack to my daughter's first year. We call her "Little" and she sings beautifully in the break. The music was heavily inspired by Jon Hopkins and The Album Leaf.
All donations from the download of this track will be sent to the Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley to assist in helping children and their families at the border. Thank you for buying music!

This song was written with summer in mind as a kid. Riding bikes and being away from home all day long.
Instrumental soundtrack music for film and video use. Available for licensing.
In another life, I will be as cool as Brian Eno. Finger's crossed. :-) This is Ambient soundtrack music produced for film and video use. Available for licensing.
This song is an early attempt at experimental ambient music. It's inspired by the soundtrack music in "Almost Famous". My favorite Camron Crow movie. Maybe my favorite movie.
Conway Sings Nilsson
Patrick Conway
Nilsson has been my favorite band for about 44 years. Singing Harry's songs feeds my soul... so as I record them... I'm gonna post them. "1941" is one of the earliest songs I learned to play as a kid. This was recorded on a ZOOM H6 with a nylon string guitar in the vocal booth at Blue Rock Studio. More to come SOON!
This record was made in San Francisco at Hyde Street Studios. It was produced by David Reidy for the Ethic Recordings label. The last track on the record "Brave Goodbye" was used in the TV series "Roswell" and features some fantastic fiddling from Dwight Yokum's early fiddler Brantley Kearns. "The Rocking Stone" also features a Waterboys cover called "How Long Will I Love You?". I shared this version with Waterboy's fiddler Steve Wickham and received a really nice note from Mike Scott praising my take on his song. This was a wonderful moment for me. :-)
